article about a new generation of private farmers...instead of playing farmville, these 20-30 somethings decided to start their own real farms...mostly focuses on people who decided to start small farms, because they were tired of large scale industrial farming...however, it also mentions people who quit corporate jobs to try something that might be more meaningful to them...that part is what interests me...so many corporate jobs, mine included, don't seem to really have any real purpose other than to help ceos collect another 100 million dollar paycheck...i don't want to romanticize it, but farming does have a more direct impact in people's lives and gives the satisfaction of producing something more concrete than what most who live the dilbert/office space life...

the article touches on the fact that farming brings with it its own challenges and is not always the nature, love, peace, and happiness type of work that people might start out believing it to be...it would be interesting if they did a long term study to see how many of these new farmers are successful enough to keep their farms and how many of them are happier farming instead of doing what they did
