new trailer for shield...agent coulson is back...i like ming na wen, but seems like an odd casting to me...also, i hope richard's character is better than gunn from angel...he probably was the least interesting character on the show...i hope glau can find a way on this show, but she's in the pilot for a show based on the comic peter panzerfaust (peter pan vs nazis)...her streak of cancelled shows might continue...

long beach comic con

i wasn't planning to go to lbcc, but i came across a 10 dollar discount from livingsocial for sunday and decided to get a ticket...it was smaller than comikaze and less crowded, but the comic selection was better...i picked up the color edition of bone...it was an impulse buy that i shouldn't have made...the deal was better than what i could get on amazon but still way more expensive than the black and white version...it's a good print though, and the pictures do look a lot better in color...

i was very tempted to get the absolute sandman volumes, but they are super expensive (5 volumes at about 80 bucks each)...a new slipcover set is coming out this weekend, so i'll wait for that instead...the absolute volumes have more content, but this slipcase set is a lot cheaper (still expensive though)...

pulp fiction is going to have a black friday sale, so i'll check them out...they had a large booth at the convention, and the employees knew their comics...their prices were also similar to amazon, which is rare for a brick and mortar store...even with a discount, the sandman and invisibles books would probably cost about $200 together...not cheap

there was a new vendor that sold metal "posters" of firefly that was really cool...the california browncoats had a raffle for a similar metal poster with jayne instead of mal, but i didn't win...he also had ones for buffy, star trek, and star wars...the walking dead one is cool too with live action and comic counterparts (my camera stinks)...

he also had metal bookmarks, but only had them for lotr and harry potter...i asked why he didn't have firefly, and he said the original thinking was to have bookmarks for stuff that were books...made sense to me, but if he had firefly bookmarks, i would have bought them...i was close to getting the mal poster, but i really wanted one of the whole cast and the ship and without the writing on the side...maybe he'll make some new ones...

there are many websites that are dissecting and analyzing it...my take is that it looks pretty cool, but samuel jackson's delivery of the voice over portion seems flat...like he's just reading it...the part where capt. america criticizes stark seems out of place since he's just a guy on super steroids...really interested to see how they handle the hulk

second is the dragon age web series with felicia day that ties into the newest dlc for the dragon age 2...you won't be able to follow it if you haven't played the game

third is the last episode of this season for the guild...it's out on xbox but doesn't come out on msn until thursday...this season was pretty good...tons of special guests
