new trailer for shield...agent coulson is back...i like ming na wen, but seems like an odd casting to me...also, i hope richard's character is better than gunn from angel...he probably was the least interesting character on the show...i hope glau can find a way on this show, but she's in the pilot for a show based on the comic peter panzerfaust (peter pan vs nazis)...her streak of cancelled shows might continue...

whedon for star wars
a few articles for and against whedon working on the new star wars

i think the argument against having whedon direct is a bit weak...her main point is that whedon isn't good with action scenes...does she remember the crappy fighting in the original trilogy?...i have to admit though that the fight scenes were one of the few bright spots of the prequels but in general, it is a small part of the appeal of the star wars franchise...also, his fight scenes might not be that great (river as a jedi would be cool), but i bet he would do some pretty awesome space battles (see serenity)...the reason why whedon is a good pick is that he would fix what was lacking in the prequels...the writing and story...they had a good cast but really terrible writing and a boring story...he has shown that he can direct a big movie, can write his own script, and has geek cred...not many people have that combination...
i might have posted this some time ago, but here are some very good reviews of the prequels...they're pretty long reviews but worth watching...

disney and lucasfilm
disney announced that they will buy lucasfilm for $4 billion and a movie is planned for 2015...lucas ruined the franchise for a lot of fans with the prequels and the various re-releases, but disney can set this right by basing the next trilogy on the expanded universe...the thrawn trilogy would make the most sense in my opinion...the more interesting part though is that disney also owns marvel, and they have whedon on their marvel movies...whedon is also a fan of star wars and understands the characters...whedon + star wars seems like a no brainer if he's willing to work on it...
